How To Add To Your Stamp Collection

If you’d like to add to your stamp collection there are various places you can find stamps. If you’re lucky they may be just what you’re looking for or perhaps rare and or valuable ones. There are many internet sites that deal in stamp collecting and are easy to find by doing a quick search. Many of these sites have articles on the topic and also sell and swap items.

A lot of these sites, such as eBay, sell the stamps by an auction process. This allows people to bid on the articles they’d like. Some of them may also come with a fixed price too. However, while you may find some real gems by using the internet, you won’t have the chance to inspect the stamps to see what condition they’re in.

You will have to trust the seller and depend on recent photographs. If you order any stamps online, make sure you insure them for loss and damage before they’re shipped out, especially if they’re very valuable and rare. It’s also a good idea to make sure the seller can give you a tracking number of some sort to prove the stamps were actually sent.

You may also find some great items to add to your stamp collection at the unlikeliest of places. Many people are in the possession of old and or rare stamps and don’t know it. It’s a good idea to visit local flea markets, garage sales, and antique shops to see what you may find.

Another good source of finding items for your stamp collection is to ask for help from your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors etc. This is especially true if they are older people. Many of these people may have saved letters and postcards throughout the years and could have some very valuable or rare stamps in their house. If you let them know you’re a collector, there’s a good chance they’d be glad to help you out.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
