Wheres a good website to find the value of a stamp collection for free ?

Question by BCZ: Wheres a good website to find the value of a stamp collection for free ?
I have a stamp book collection of Mongolia in mint condition from 1959-1983. The book contains 420 stamps all in perfect mint condition. If there are any stamp collectors who read this would you possibly be able to tell me how much it would be worth if you don’t know of any websites. All help will be very much appreciated.

  1. Rick says:

If you want to spend a small amount of money put it up on ebay and see what it ‘sells’ for. Let me explain.

Put it up on ebay with many pictures and set a reserve price of $ 30,000. It won’t sell but you will see what the highest bid is tell you what the MARKET VALUE is. If it does sell you will be rich and who cares. Make sure there is pleanty of pictures because that is the key to letting people know what you have. If there is alot of stamps try an auction picture service to host them.

Ignore the Catalog value. Buyers don’t pay you the catalog value and that will not tell you its real worth. Some stamps are worthless because they are common but they still have a catalog value. You want to know the real value.

PS:Ebay is the #1 place to tell you the market/real value of Stamps and Coins.
